Program Highlights

Students at Glen Park receive rigorous core curriculum instruction daily. Academic excellence and high expectations are consistent goals for all staff and students. We offer our students the knowledge and skills to ensure future success.

Literacy
Reading First is a rigorous and consistent Language Arts program taught by well-trained teachers to all students following specific required daily instructional minutes.
Math
The math formative assessment program supports the standards based curriculum. Skills are taught through practice and hands-on application. PRIME supports 4th/5th grade teachers in the teaching of math.
Social Studies
The curriculum is integrated with academic Language Arts and Technology to further promote understanding.
Science
Hands-on activities, inquiry focus, field trips, technology, and conservation programs contribute to a stimulating science curriculum.
Technology Literacy
Credentialed Technology Literacy Specialist offers weekly classes to all students in our state of the art computer lab. Technology skills are taught through integration of core curriculum.
Library Media Literacy
Credentialed Library Media teacher provides library and literacy classes and weekly services to all students.
ELD/ALA
ELD: A language development program for identified English learners - 30 minutes daily
ALA: Academic Language Arts – 30 minutes daily with a focus on oral language and/or writing skills development.
GATE
Students identified for gifted and talented education services receive differentiated instruction/enrichment throughout the school day.
Visual and Performing Arts
Instrumental music, chorus, dance, visual and performing art experiences are offered throughout the school year.
Physical Ecudation, Health Nuitrition
We emphasize the importance of fitness, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. PE and Health Ed are embedded in our instructional programs.
